Volkswagen of America Increases November Sales 24.2% Over Prior Year's
20,189 Total Volkswagen Vehicles Sold; the All-New Jetta Continues to take the Lead with a 40.2% increase in sales and Touareg has best month since 2007
HERNDON, Va., Dec. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. today reported that November 2010 marked a 24.2 percent increase over prior year sales for their entire line of vehicles. The Volkswagen Jetta continues to lead in popularity selling 11,153 Sedan and SportWagen models, a 40.2% increase over last year. With its best month since December 2007, Volkswagen's all-new Touareg is off to a great start, selling more than double the model line sales from last November.
Volkswagen's Routan achieved a 98.5% increase and Golf and Tiguan also experienced strong increases in sales compared to November 2009.
Volkswagen's TDI clean diesel models had another strong month with 4,304 total sales.
"It's no surprise the all-new Jetta and Touareg models did well for November but it's also good to see increases from models such as the Routan, Tiguan and Golf," said Mark Barnes, Chief Operating Officer, Volkswagen of America, Inc. "Our TDI clean diesel products continue to gain popularity as customers realize the benefit of this product."
