FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines, in cooperation with SCORE, an organization that helps small businesses succeed through mentoring and training, today announces the start of public online voting in the Flights.Camera.Action contest to select the top five videos entered by small and medium-sized businesses (SMB). In the videos, companies explain how free travel and extensive media exposure would impact the future of their business. The grand prize winner will be announced at the annual SCORE Awards Gala on Sept. 15 in Washington, D.C.
Public voting runs through Aug. 26. Most prizes to winners will be delivered via the Business ExtrAA® program – American's business-to-business loyalty rewards program, in which companies can enroll at no cost.
In addition, voters will be eligible to enter a sweepstakes up to once per day for a chance to win 25,000 AAdvantage® miles – the equivalent of one round-trip domestic Plan AAhead® Award Economy Class ticket. Visit www.aa.com/flightscameraaction for details. Terms and conditions apply.
Of the hundreds of videos entered in the contest by small and medium sized companies, 50 semi-finalists have been chosen for the public vote. These 50 videos are hosted on the contest website, www.aa.com/flightscameraaction. All semi-finalist companies will be awarded 10,000 Business ExtrAA points (for the equivalent of up to five domestic round-trip Plan AAhead Award Economy Class tickets) and invitations to attend the SCORE Awards Gala.
The five finalists will receive an additional 10,000 Business ExtrAA points, for a total of 20,000 Business ExtrAA points that could be redeemed for 10 domestic round-trip Plan AAhead Award economy class tickets via the Business ExtrAA program. The five finalist companies will be recognized at the Gala, and will receive exposure to American Airlines customers on AA.com/business.
The Company Grand Prize Winner will be announced at the SCORE Awards Gala and will receive an additional 80,000 Business ExtrAA points for a total of 100,000 points – equivalent to up to 50 domestic round-trip Plan AAhead Award Economy Class tickets, recognition at the Gala, as well as being awarded the ultimate media exposure package to American Airlines customers, including a full-page ad in one issue of American Way or Nexos magazine, banners on AA.com, an inflight TV testimonial, and more.
The industries represented by companies that entered the contest included manufacturing, technology, retail, health services, professional services, and not-for-profit organizations. A total of 13 states were represented by the top 50 semi-finalist companies, with the largest concentrations in California, New York, Texas and Florida.
