Voxbone Network's International DID Numbers Extend Reach of Deutsche Telekom's Developer Garden Developers Now Have Easy, Interoperable Numbers for Integration Into APIs
BRUSSELS, Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Voxbone today announced it is providing international direct inward dial (DID) numbers to Deutsche Telekom (DT) for its Developer Garden, a recently relaunched portal and marketplace that enables developers to integrate DT services into their mobile and desktop applications and to buy and sell software components.
DT, whose Developer Garden site targets 17 million global developers, chose Voxbone because the company's VoxDID service enables major carriers such as DT to extend the reach of their telecommunications networks rapidly through Voxbone's convenient application programming interface (API) solution. Voxbone maintains a supply of geographic and national phone numbers for incoming communications from more than 50 countries and 4,000 cities.
The Developer Garden APIs offer developers access to DT's voice and data services. For example, developers can build speech-driven interactive voice response (IVR) and VoIP solutions, voice mash-ups and SMS applications with Telekom Tropo API, a cloud-based voice applications platform, or initiate conference calls with just a Web service call.
"Deutsche Telekom is always looking for the best ways to help the developer community to create innovative services and applications and to turn code into money," said Avner Mor, Vice President B2B2x Enabling of Deutsche Telekoms Digital Business Unit (DBU). "Voxbone's DID numbers enable us to increase the reach of developers' services, so they can develop better, more affordable tools and apps for smartphones, tablets and computers."
DIDs are particularly helpful for such companies as Voxeo Corporation, a DT partner that has created its Tropo API offering, which adds voice and SMS support to common programming languages.
"This announcement marks a trend in the telecom industry, in which mobile carriers are encouraging developers to create services and applications based on the cloud, their voice networks and Voxbone's inbound numbers," said Voxbone CEO Rod Ullens. "All Developer Garden app developers now have access to Voxbone's full range of DID numbers for any application they want to build, enabling them to create superior applications more quickly and for wider audiences."
Voxbone is the market leader in providing worldwide geographical, toll-free and iNum® telephone numbers, enabling Internet communications services providers, global carriers, national operators and enterprises to extend the reach of their voice services internationally, rapidly and with minimal costs. The company delivers high-quality inbound communications (often referred to as direct inward dialing, or DID) from more than 50 countries and more than 4,000 cities around the world.
