VPS.NET to Sponsor the Printing of 24 Ways Annual 2010
All proceeds will benefit The United Nations Children's Fund
LONDON, Dec. 6, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- VPS.NET formally announces its partnership with Five Simple Steps for the printing of the 24 Ways Annual 2010. This sponsorship will directly benefit The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and their efforts for child-rights around the globe.
24 Ways is the advent calendar for Web designers and developers, written by high-profile Web professionals, 24ways.org has had over 250,000 readers in 2010. Each day throughout December, 24 Ways will publish a daily dose of Web design and development goodness to bring a little Christmas cheer. For the first time, this year's 24 Ways annual blog is going to be turned into a limited edition print available at fivesimplesteps.com. "The Annual is only going to be on sale throughout December. We stop selling it on the last day of December. Then we print the copies we've sold. That's it. No more. It's strictly limited edition," says Mark Boulton, owner of Five Simple Steps.
In partnership with 24 Ways, Five Simple Steps is taking the 24 articles and making something tangible and beautiful to read off-line. "What I love about this is that we have a genuine opportunity to do some good in the world. We're aiming to sell 5,000 copies of this -- with VPS.NET footing the bill for the print costs, that means we will donate 37,500 GBP to UNICEF. That's enough to do some serious good for children across the world who are a lot less fortunate than our children," Boulton boasts.
"VPS.NET is thrilled to be part of The 24 Ways Annual," says Nick Nelson, Managing Director at VPS.NET. "By fully sponsoring the print run of the book, 24 Ways and Five Simple Steps can donate even more money to UNICEF. This is a great start for our Hosting for Good 2011 initiative, where we will be supporting a different charity every month in 2011."
VPS.NET will kick off its 2011 Hosting for Good campaign with this sponsorship. Every month VPS.NET will donate a portion of its proceeds as well as invite VPS.NET clients and partners to participate. VPS.NET's February charity will be The Rockstar Foundation, headquartered in Capetown, South Africa. The Rockstar Foundation is a unique and vibrant non-profit organization passionate about uplifting and empowering disadvantaged girls through educational grants.
