VShell 4.1 Server from VanDyke Software Enhances Trigger Support with Built-in SFTP Trigger Action
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- VanDyke Software®, a developer of multi-platform secure terminal emulation and file transfer software, today announced the official release of the VShell® 4.1 server. VShell 4.1 for Windows improves trigger support with a new built-in SFTP transfer trigger action and the ability to configure trigger actions to run as an account other than the VShell service account.
"With the new SFTP Transfer trigger action, files uploaded to a DMZ drop zone can be automatically moved to another machine using the SFTP protocol," said Chris McElveny, VanDyke Software's product director for VShell. "Previously, it was difficult to configure a trigger solution that was able to access network resources (like file shares). The capability to run a trigger as a specific user account now makes it easier to securely access network resources within a trigger action."
In addition, VShell 4.1 adds group management to the internal user database, allowing for easier user management and additional fine-grained control.
VShell 4.1 also improves security and compliance with support for ECDSA host keys, ECDH key-exchange algorithms, and larger RSA key bit sizes.
The VShell Secure Shell server replaces Telnet and FTP for secure network administration and end-user access on Windows and UNIX platforms. Precision control over privileges, the ability to fine-tune the Secure Shell environment, and a wide selection of strong authentication methods provide a flexible solution that grows with evolving business and security environments.
