Company receives $43.9m US Army order
HOPE HULL, Ala., Aug. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- VT Miltope, a company of VT Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), today announced that it has received an additional $43.9m order from the US Army to supply the At Platform Automatic Test Systems (APATS) Maintenance Support Device-Version 3 (MSD-V3). This new order, which is part of the $500.0m indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity MSD-V3 contract awarded in 2009, brings the total awarded value for this contract to $148.5m.
This order is based on the Rugged Convertible Laptop Computer-Type 1 (RCLC-1), the next generation of the HARD WEAR family of rugged computers. The RCLC-1 is a convertible laptop-to-tablet computer that is qualified to MIL-STD-810G/461F/464A and can withstand the most extreme and volatile conditions. Work is expected to commence immediately on the MSD-V3 Type 1 kits with a delivery date in 2012.
