Vulcan's Calera employees have worked since February 2006 – over 1.2 million man-hours – without a lost time injury, and over 500,000 man hours without a medical case.

In a letter to Calera Plant Manager Terry Cummins, MSHA's Southeast District Manager Michael Davis said, "I want to thank each of you for the personal effort you make toward a safe and healthful work environment. To achieve this notable safety and health record is quite an accomplishment."
