Vulcan's Calera Quarry Employees Work Over 1.2 Million Man-hours Accident Free

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vulcan Materials Company (NYSE: VMC) today announced that its Calera Quarry was recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for outstanding safety achievement.  Vulcan's Calera employees have worked since February 2006 – over 1.2 million man-hours – without a lost time injury, and over 500,000 man hours without a medical case.
