BENTONVILLE, Ark., Sept. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Walmart and Sam's Club announced today that flu shot clinics offered by Mollen Immunization Clinics are now available in more than 4,100 select stores and clubs nationwide.  The cost of the flu shots will be $25*.  Mollen will accept Medicare Part B and many other forms of private health insurance.

New guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend yearly flu shots for everyone over the age of 6 months.  Mollen professional nurses will administer flu shots for anyone ages four and older.

Customers can visit www.walmart.com/flushots or SamsClub.com/healthyliving to find specific dates, times and locations for the flu vaccination clinics.  There is no need to make an appointment, and customers may also pick up the preventive products they need, such as antibacterial wipes or sprays, and hand sanitizers, all in one place.

Mollen Immunization Clinics is one of the largest providers of influenza (flu) immunizations in the United States, conducting a network of seasonal clinics each year.

Expanded Immunizations

In response to increased state regulations, Mollen is expanding its immunization menu to include in addition to flu vaccine, the pneumonia, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria pertussis), MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), meningitis, HPV (human papilloma virus) and hepatitis A and B vaccines.  Several states have expanded their mandates around these immunizations for both children and adults and increasingly these vaccinations are being covered by Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurers.  Walmart and Mollen will be offering these expanded immunizations at approximately 800 Walmart stores and Sam's Club locations nationally.  Individuals can visit Walmart.com/flushots to preregister for these vaccinations, to find CDC recommendations pertaining to these immunizations and to locate the Walmart stores where they are being offered.

* Medicare Part B or private health plans may cover part or all of the cost of the immunization; customers pay the lesser of the $25 or the co-pay as designated by their third-party payers.
