CHARLESTON, W.Va., Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Charleston resident Ron Walters, Jr., announced today that he is running for the Republican nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in West Virginia's Second District.
"It's all about jobs," he said. "The federal government has become a barrier to job creation, especially for small business and in West Virginia's energy sector. I will work to stop legislation that impedes job growth."
Walters is an insurance and financial consultant in the family-owned business, R.N. Walters & Associates. He has a master's degree in international management from the University of London-Royal Holloway in the United Kingdom and a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University.
"We need to move West Virginia down the right path to an economically prosperous future," Walters said. "I will make a difference in the fight against higher taxes and over-burdensome regulation. In addition, I know this district intimately, having grown up in the Charleston area with deep family roots in the Eastern Panhandle."
Walters is the son of Ron Walters, Sr., a longtime member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, and brother of Chris Walters, a member of the West Virginia Senate.
