Wamberg Genomic Advisors Poll: 59% of Employee Benefit Executives Say Genomic Products are a Good Employee Benefit

LA JOLLA, Calif., Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fifty-nine percent (59%) of employee benefit executives and brokers polled said that genomic products are a good benefit to offer employees.  And 62% of those polled executives responded that they would personally want to get their own genetics tested as long as their privacy was maintained.  The Wamberg Genomic Advisors poll of 200 executives was conducted during a webinar panel discussion on September 7^th hosted by Global Healthcare Resources.  Dr. Phil Smalley, Chief Medical Director at Wamberg Genomic Advisors, and Hugh Cathey, CEO of ChromoCare, participated in the panel discussion focusing on the emergence of genomic programs and services offered through the workplace. 

According to Tom Wamberg, CEO of Wamberg Genomic Advisors, "This poll indicates that we are at an inflection point where genomic testing will be offered by more employers and plans. The driving factor is cost. At current price points, almost anyone can afford clinical quality testing.  Ten years ago, it would have cost $1,000,000. Today, genomic tests are offered at a much more affordable price for the average consumer."
