Wanted: Area Seniors to be Featured on Akron 60 Strong Calendar

AKRON, Ohio, July 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- You, or someone you know, could be featured in the exclusive 2019 Akron 60 Strong calendar highlighting Northeast Ohio area events and activities.  A panel of celebrity judges will select 12 winners who exemplify how life in your sixties can be a positive, vibrant and active time. In addition to appearing in the Akron 60 Strong calendar, winners receive "celebrity treatment," a professional photo shoot at area landmarks, and are compensated for their time.

The calendar contest is the brainchild of Pioneer Network Physicians and Paradigm Senior Care Advantage.  It is a public service for seniors and includes tips about healthy living and navigating through the complexities of Medicare. Anyone age 18 or older can nominate a 60- to 69-year-old who has achieved remarkable levels of fitness, is heroic in sustaining a chronic illness, devotes time to their community or helps others in need.

Here's how the contest works:

• Log on to Akron60Strong.com and submit an application, 400-word essay headshot and full-length photo by September 12, 2018.
• Or, download an application form at Akron60Strong.com, and mail the completed form, a 400-word essay, head-shot and full-length photo to: Akron 60 Strong Contest, Paradigm Senior Care Advantage, Agilon Health, 440 Polaris Parkway, Suite 550, Westerville, OH 43082. Must be postmarked: Sept. 10, 2018.

Those who nominate winning candidates receive a $65 gift certificate to be used at area establishments.

60 Strong candidates must be between ages of 60 and 69 on Sept. 1, 2018, and a resident of the following Ohio counties: Summit, Stark, Medina and Portage Counties. Contestants will be judged on their health/wellness/fitness, community involvement, volunteerism and inspirational qualities.

Beginning Nov. 1, the calendars can be purchased at Akron60Strong.com.  Net proceeds benefit Faithful Servants Care Center, which provides free urgent health care services for those without economic means to access traditional medical care.
