Washington Examiner/Echelon Influential Insights Poll
DC Insiders weigh in on only poll of its kind
WASHINGTON, Aug. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The majority of Washington insiders aren't paying much attention to voter rebellions represented by the campaigns of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders, and they expect it to be business as usual in the federal government next year.
"They overwhelmingly support Hillary Clinton," says Tim Carney, Senior Political Columnist for the Washington Examiner, "and seem to believe she'll protect the way Washington does business from this political firestorm."
Carney spearheaded analysis for the Examiner, crunching data gathered by Echelon Insights.
"This poll is of professionals in the know and decision-makers in Washington. They know how policy is shaped and they're often the ones shaping it," says Kristen Soltis Anderson, Echelon Insights founder and columnist for Washington Examiner. Anderson is also author of The Selfie Vote: Where Millennials are Leading America (And How Republicans Can Keep up).
Results of the first poll can be found at http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/election-polling.
The poll is the first of a series from Washington Examiner and Echelon Insights, which will reveal throughout 2017 what Washington insiders think about the major political issues of the day, and how they are responding to them.
"The Washington Examiner/Echelon Influential Insights Poll is the only one of its kind," says Washington Examiner Editorial Director Hugo Gurdon. "It's important to know where Washington policy professionals stand on key issues, and to gauge how in touch they are with voters across America."
