MIDLAND, Texas, Aug. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Water Midstream Partners, LLC ("Water Midstream") announces the expansion of its Howard County Saltwater Gathering System to support new horizontal development of an existing customer's Howard County acreage. Initially constructed in 2014, a recent expansion to Water Midstream's Howard County System has begun flowing water from new horizontal Lower Sprayberry wells, raising the daily volume in the system to more than 10,000 bpd. An additional extension and mainline upgrades to the Howard County system will support an additional 15,000 bpd from multi-well pads in early Fall, 2016. At its peak flow, this segment of the system will move the equivalent of 330 truck trips per day.
After two years of operation in Howard County, Water Midstream's Howard County Pipeline system is set to have a record month in August, reaching nearly 300,000 barrels of saltwater from multiple producers. With drilling and completion activity increasing across the basin, August is also on track to be a record month for Water Midstream as a whole, with its Permian Basin pipeline systems exceeding 1,000,000 bbls of water.
According to B.G. Clark, President of Water Midstream Partners, "Our strategy of working with producers who are forward-thinking in reducing lease operating expenses and minimizing their environmental impact is paying off. We build capacity to meet our customers' peak needs, while providing value every day. We are improving the efficiency of saltwater disposal and making the area safer by reducing the need for water hauling, especially for the high-volume horizontal wells near populated and agriculturally active areas. Our recent success in enabling 'no-truck flow-backs' for producers has been particularly well-received."
