Water Systems Council Announces Upcoming Dates for Water Systems Primer & Refresher

WASHINGTON, April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Water Systems Council, the only national, nonprofit organization solely focused on household wells and small water well systems, announced today that it will conduct sessions of its Water Systems Primer and Refresher program at the South Atlantic Jubilee in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on July 25, 2014 and at the NGWA Expo in Las Vegas on Dec. 9, 2014.

WSC's Water Systems Primer and Refresher is a continuing education and training program that was introduced at the 2013 NGWA Expo, in collaboration with the National Ground Water Association.  The one-day class provides instruction on water well fundamentals; pumps; service; components; water quality assurance; electrical safety, controls, and regulations; community well systems, shared wells, and groundwater heat pumps; and solar power systems.

The training is conducted by WSC member company representatives from Xylem, Inc.; Franklin Electric Company, Inc.; Amtrol, Inc.; Flexcon Industries; 2M Company; Grundfos Pumps Corporation; Pacific Northwest Sales Company; and Pentair.

WSC introduced the new continuing education program at the 2013 NGWA Expo last December and completed its second sold-out session at the Pacific Northwest Expo in Portland, OR, on March 29, 2014.  The cost is $50 per person; attendees receive .575 CEUs or 5.75 CEPs as well as a copy of the WSC Water Systems Handbook 12th Edition (a $75 value).

"The Water Systems Primer & Refresher provides a great opportunity for participants to receive invaluable training from the manufacturers of the products they use on the job every day," said Margaret Martens, WSC executive director.  "Our last session in March was completely sold out, which indicates a demand for this type of training that WSC is proud to provide the water well industry."

Other organizations or associations interested in hosting a Water Systems Primer & Refresher training program should contact Martens at 202-625-4387 or via email.

The Water Systems Council (WSC) is the only national, nonprofit organization solely focused on household wells and small water well systems. WSC is committed to ensuring that Americans who get their water from household private wells have safe, reliable drinking water and to protecting our nation's groundwater resources.  For more information, visit www.watersystemscouncil.org.
