Wattle Creek Partners With Vin Divino For National Sales And Marketing
CHICAGO, Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Alexander Valley winery, Wattle Creek announced today an agreement which names Chicago-based Vin Divino as its exclusive National Sales and Marketing agent. Wattle Creek is owned by Chris and Kristine Williams, who purchased the property in 1994. Williams, who is a successful insurance executive has replanted the vineyards and expanded production capabilities. The estate property consists of approximately 55 acres planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. At the signing of the agreement with Vin Divino, Wattle Creek also announced the appointment of Benjamin Williams as Vice President of Sales. Benjamin is the son of owners Chris and Kristine Williams and continues the family's day to day involvement with the winery.
The winemaker, Matt Michael, has been with the winery since 2009 producing fruit forward, approachable wines which have been critically acclaimed. The winery's Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Triple Play (Rhone blend) consistently garner 90+ scores.
"As we approach our 19th harvest we are delighted to be partnered with Vin Divino," said Williams. "Their approach to market is quite different from other wine sales organizations we've worked with and we share many of the same values. They are a strategic and practical partner which is refreshing with the current state of the market."
Vin Divino, which is owned by Rome based Angelini Group, is an importer of wines from Italy, Austria, Spain and Chile. The 19 year old company has just undergone a three year restructuring, led by President Len Nowicki.
"We've worked hard over the past few years to reposition Vin Divino in a more relevant way with our national distribution network," said Len Nowicki. "Our entry into domestic wines increases this relevance and provides us with excellent strategic growth opportunities. Wattle Creek continues the careful assembly of our domestic portfolio. It provides us with the varietals, appellation and price points that we know the market is currently looking for."
