Web-Based Diagnosis and Treatment Service Provides Lakewood Health System Patients 24/7 Virtual Care
Patients Receive Convenient, Safe, Affordable Treatment Online for Common Health Conditions, Bringing the Convenience of Online Shopping to Healthcare
STAPLES, Minn., May 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Lakewood Health System is making it more convenient for patients to receive care for common health conditions with the launch of Click Care – an online diagnosis and treatment service that virtually connects patients with Lakewood clinicians.
With Click Care, patients can use their smartphones, computers or other Web-enabled devices to receive prompt virtual care for a variety of common medical conditions including, but not limited to, sinus infections, female bladder infections and pink eye – all for a set fee of $40 payable by credit, debit or health savings card.
"We are launching Click Care with the patient in mind," said Chelsey Olander, physician assistant and hospitalist at Lakewood Health System. "Busy patients no longer have to miss work or school to get a prescription or diagnosis for common medical conditions. They have the convenience of using Click Care whenever and wherever they are, and know they're being treated by a Lakewood provider."
Patients start a virtual Click Care visit by completing a short online adaptive interview anytime, 24/7. Using the latest evidence-based medical guidelines, interviews typically take less than five minutes to complete and have been proven to be as accurate as a live in-office interview with a clinician. The patient's symptoms are instantly sent to a Lakewood Health System board-certified provider for review and diagnosis, which are completed in less than an hour during business hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily). When the diagnosis and treatment are ready, the patient receives a text or email. If a prescription is appropriate, Click Care enables the patient to instantly send an electronic prescription to the pharmacy of their choice.
The virtual care telemedicine platform was developed by Zipnosis – a Minneapolis-based company that partners with leading health systems to provide telemedicine services, meeting the needs of patients while improving access to care and maximizing clinical capacity.
"With Click Care, Lakewood is improving clinical care by making it easy for patients and healthcare providers to connect online without sacrificing quality," said Jon Pearce, co-founder and CEO of Zipnosis. "This is an exciting advancement for Lakewood Health System as they strive to meet the ever-changing needs of today's patients."
