Well Sense(SM) Health Plan is now New Hampshire business name for BMC HealthNet Plan
MANCHESTER, N.H., Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Well Sense Health Plan is the new name by which Boston Medical Center (BMC) HealthNet Plan is conducting its New Hampshire business operations. Well Sense Health Plan is one of the managed care organizations selected by New Hampshire's Department of Health and Human Services to provide managed care services coverage to the state's approximately 115,000 Medicaid members starting later this year.
"Given the significance of the role Well Sense Health Plan will play in the lives of New Hampshire Medicaid members, we wanted a name that reflects what we do and that would appeal to the people we will be serving in New Hampshire," said Scott O'Gorman, President of BMC HealthNet Plan, the Massachusetts company behind Well Sense Health Plan. "We believe the Well Sense name meets both of those objectives."
In research conducted to select a name for the health plan in New Hampshire, BMC HealthNet Plan engaged a firm specializing in brand naming to develop options based on appeal and how the names would best fit a managed care organization. Well Sense Health Plan was the clear favorite at the conclusion of a process where different names were tested with more than 300 anonymous, low-income consumers in New Hampshire.
Well Sense Health Plan has taken office space at 1155 Elm Street in Manchester. The location will be able to accommodate over 60 Well Sense Health Plan staff members now being hired who will be dedicated to a variety of functions including Care Management, Clinical Quality Management, Community Outreach, Provider Contracting and Behavioral Health Services.
