Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino's SuperContest Satellite Series Tips Off With "March to the Championship"
College basketball fans are invited to use the Gamblino mobile app to play against the odds on the tournament's opening round games
LAS VEGAS, March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The first ever Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino SuperContest Satellite Series launches today as Gamblino hosts its March to the Championship contest. This college basketball contest is the first in a series of competitions on the mobile platform that allows sports fans to play against the odds on each game of the tournament. The winner of the contest will win a free entry into the 2015 SuperContest (a $1,500 value), the world's largest and most prestigious pro football handicapping competition.
"Last year's SuperContest was the biggest in history and we're confident that the Satellite Series will help us grow it even more," said Jay Kornegay, Vice President of Race & Sports for Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. "Since announcing our partnership with Gamblino, we've been thrilled at the outpouring of support and excitement over the fact that people can now compete for a spot in the SuperContest for free, and from anywhere in the US."
Registration for the Satellite Series opened to the public on March 2nd and is still free to join by visiting SuperContestSatelliteSeries.com or downloading the Gamblino app. The competitions will operate using Gamblino's unique points system, so no currency is ever exchanged, making it legal throughout the U.S. The March to the Championship contest will run through the tournament and conclude after the final buzzer on April 6th. Following the championship game, the winner of the Satellite Series' contest will receive the first-ever free entry into the 2015 SuperContest.
"By now, everyone has filled out a bracket or ten, but we're offering college hoops fans a new way to enjoy the madness," said Frank Wilson, founder of Gamblino. "Not only are fans encouraged to bet on each matchup, we'll also be providing up-to-the-minute odds on all of the action, and expert analysis throughout the tournament – all within the app."
Gamblino's tournament analysis will be provided by The Linemakers, a partner of Sporting News and the industry's most trusted information source for sports betting information. Digital content for each game will be offered on the app's interface so players won't have to search for insider tips on this year's Cinderella team or dig for more information on that tricky 6-11 seed matchup. The Linemakers and Sporting News will be providing tailored content and betting analysis to guide players through the bracket and throughout the duration of the Satellite Series.
"The college basketball tournament is one of the biggest sports – and sports betting – events of the year," said Terry Leiweke, Managing Partner of The Linemakers. "We're excited to be the primary content and information source for the Satellite Series, and to be instrumental in bringing the once-exclusive SuperContest to the masses."
Following March to the Championship, remaining contests in the 2015 Satellite Series will be centered around the NHL playoffs, NBA playoffs, and first half of the MLB season. Gamblino will host each contest in the series and is currently available on iOS, with Android capabilities expected in early April.
