WITS GOLD: APPOINTMENT OF NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

JOHANNESBURG, March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Witwatersrand Consolidated Gold Resources or "Wits Gold" (JSE&TSX: WGR; ADR: WIWTY) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Kenneth Dicks as an independent non-executive director of the Company effective 5^th March 2012.

Mr Dicks, a mining engineer of background, has 39 years' experience working in the South African mining industry, having held a number of senior positions within AngloGold.  He presently also serves as an independent non-executive on the boards of Harmony Gold and Bauba Platinum.
