Highlights from our GM Report include:
- July Sales Highlights - On August 03, 2015, General Motor reported its sales figures for the month of July 2015. The Company's Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands sold 272,512 vehicles in the United States in July exhibiting a 6% growth. It was also the four brands' best combined performance for July since 2007. During the month, Buick sales increased by 18%, GMC was up by 1%, while Chevrolet's sales increased 8%. On a Company-wide basis, retail deliveries were up 14% y-o-y, with GM gaining retail market share for the fourth month in a row. The month was the best July for the Company's retail sales since 2007. In contrast, fleet deliveries declined 20% y-o-y as the Company continued to execute its plan to reduce sales to rental customers and grow commercial and government deliveries. Government sales for the Company increased 38% with deliveries to state and local governments up 59%. However, rental deliveries declined by 36% during the month.
- Brands Register Best July for Total Sales- Chevrolet witnessed its best July since 2006. The brand's pickup deliveries were up 51%, the Silverado was up 34% with sales for Colorado at 7,209 units. July also saw Chevrolet have its best crossover sales ever. The Traverse was up 32%, while the Trax had its best month since launch with 6,111 units delivered. GMC had its best July sales since 2005. GMC's flagship crossover, The Acadia, was up 32%, for its best month ever. GMC's pickup deliveries were up 28%. Buick recorded best July sales since 2006's with Encore deliveries up 68% and Enclave sales up 25%. Cadillac's CTS sedan deliveries were up 18% and the SRX crossover was up 47%, for its best July ever.
- Strong Average Transaction Prices - The Company's Average Transaction Prices (ATPs) continued to show strength with July ATPs at $33,800, up by $200 sequentially and about $530 on a y-o-y basis. The ATP increase was driven by the ongoing success for the Company's Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra with full-size pickup truck ATPs up $230 sequentially and more than $1,000 y-o-y. In July, GM's incentive spending worked out to about 12.5% of ATP, up 0.4 percentage points from June 2015, while the industry was up 0.3 percentage points .
