What's In a Name? Denali Calls Upon Ice Cream Lovers Everywhere to Help Name Next Flavor of Moose Tracks® Ice Cream

WAYLAND, Mich., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Similar to the debate and deliberations that parents-to-be endure when picking the perfect name for their new baby, Denali Flavors, developers of the legendary Moose Tracks® flavor of ice cream, is facing a challenge in finding the perfect name for their newest variety of Moose Tracks® ice cream.  Unlike most parents to be, Denali has decided to ask for the nation's help in this naming effort by launching a contest to come up with the perfect name of the next Moose Tracks® ice cream creation.  

Ice cream lovers and enthusiasts nationwide are called upon to submit their name suggestions for the new flavor of Moose Tracks® ice cream set to appear in grocery store freezers in 2011.  The new flavor is a tasty blend featuring rich, creamy chocolate ice cream, ribbons of signature Moose Tracks® fudge and peanut butter cookie dough pieces.  

"We've come up with some pretty memorable names for our ice cream flavors over the years but, perfection has been elusive in this case, so we decided to do something we've never done and  solicit some help from Moose Tracks® fans nationwide," said John Nardini, vice president of marketing for Denali Flavors.  "We're eager to see the unique names that are submitted, after which we will release what we consider the top five for a public vote to decide the final name."

Contest entrants can post their name suggestions on the Moose Tracks® Facebook page at www.facebook.com/moosetracks from August 2 - August 13, 2010.   Denali will then pick the top five finalists from all submissions.  On August 16, 2010 the company will post an exclusive Facebook survey asking ice cream lovers everywhere to cast their vote for their favorite name.  People may vote for their favorite finalist as many times as they like, and the winning name will be announced on August 27, 2010.

The five finalists will receive a one-month supply of Moose Tracks® ice cream and a prize pack filled with a variety of Moose Tracks® logo items.  The creator of the winning name will be rewarded with a one-year supply of Moose Tracks® ice cream, a shout out on the Moose Tracks® Facebook page (www.facebook.com/moosetracks) and a prize pack filled with Moose Tracks® items.

Entrants must have created the name themselves and the name must be unique and ownable, and pair well with the Moose Tracks® brand.  It also cannot infringe on any other brand or individual.  The names must not use the trademarks of others or show anything offensive or vulgar.  A full list of contest rules can be found via the entry form at www.facebook.com/moosetracks.
