Each of the team's members feels passionate about representing whistleblowers and shared some of their views and sentiments in joining the Whistleblower Law Team.
Founder and NYC attorney Tim McInnis noted past and present contributions whistleblowers have made to a fair and orderly American economic system. "As the Senate's proclamation for National Whistleblower Appreciation Day shows, whistleblowers have been recognized and rewarded for their courageous efforts going back to at least 1777 when 10 sailors blew the whistle on fraud and misconduct harmful to the United States. Fast forward to the present, and we see in Department of Justice's most recent report that more than $3.5 billion has been returned to the US Treasury under the Federal False Claims Act alone—most from "qui tam" cases, where whistleblowers typically receive between 15% and 30% of recovered funds. As both lawyers and Americans, we are proud to carry on this essential tradition of bringing fraud against the Government and taxpayers to light."
Washington, DC-based Julie Grohovsky shared her admiration for whistleblowers and the significance of National Whistleblower Appreciation Day, observing that "Whistleblowers risk their careers and livelihoods to expose fraud on behalf of all Americans, and we are proud to honor these courageous individuals on National Whistleblower Appreciation Day. Billions of taxpayer dollars are lost to fraud in this country each year and untold numbers of military personnel and consumers are exposed to health and safety risks caused by fraudulent conduct. Without whistleblowers most of this fraud would go undetected and uncorrected."
New Jersey Attorney and former Federal and County Prosecutor Paul Brickfield explained why he is an enthusiastic member of the Whistleblower Law Team, noting "At a time when many citizens feel powerless against the actions and power of large corporations and institutions, the whistleblower laws allow citizens who recognize right from wrong to come forward and assist the Government to root out fraud, to punish wrongdoers and to return to taxpayers funds for good purposes." Paul further noted that he and the other members of the Whistleblower Law Team "have many years' experience in this field and have successfully achieved excellent results for our clients in a number of diverse whistleblower cases."
Putting a final point on it, in Albany, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Fallati took pride in revealing that "Uncovering fraud and holding perpetrators to account are passions of mine. I look forward to working with the Whistleblower Law Team to serve whistleblowers throughout the country."
