MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Aug. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A new property adjacent to the iconic University of Texas campus will feature both the Autograph Collection and AC Hotels by Marriott brands, White Lodging announced today. The hotel investment, development and management company also released further details on a 615-room Marriott in downtown Austin, adjacent to the Austin Convention Center.

The unique 350 room, 11-story AC Hotels and Autograph Collection dual-branded complex will house both properties, and while efficiencies will be shared in the back of the house, such as in housekeeping, each hotel will have its own unique lobby, restaurant, bar and an oversized exercise facility. The upscale Autograph will feature over 6,000 square feet of event and entertainment space, a street-level restaurant and bar, a walk-up Burger Bar and a rooftop bar and pool deck offering panoramic views of the University, State Capitol and downtown Austin skyline.
The development, will be the first in Austin to feature the lifestyle hotel brands together and is scheduled to begin construction in mid 2017 and open in the first quarter of 2019.
Recently introduced to the U.S., the 156-room Austin AC Hotels property will be the lifestyle brand's first to open in Austin. The brand originated in Europe in 2011 as a joint venture with Spanish hotelier, Antonio Catalan and currently offers a portfolio of hotels in Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Brazil and Mexico. Inspired by the runways and fashion houses of Milan, the brand features simple, clean and crisp lines, marrying sophisticated European style with modern design.
The 191-room Autograph Collection hotel will join an evolving ensemble of strikingly independent hotels. Exactly like nothing else, each destination has been selected for its quality, bold originality, rich character and uncommon details. From near to far, iconic to historic, the result is an array of properties that is nothing less than unique, nothing short of collectively exceptional.
At the Northwest corner of Cesar Chavez and Trinity Street, the company will build a striking 30-story full service Marriott Hotel property. The hotel will have 65,000 square feet of meeting, exhibit and entertainment space and a self-contained underground parking garage. Guests and locals will be able to visit an expansive outdoor pool, bar and entertainment zone on the hotel's 7th floor as well as two additional bars and a full service restaurant on street level.
The hotel is scheduled to begin construction in May and open in the summer of 2019.
