Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q in Georgia Helps Employee Leslie Sneed To Battle Breast Cancer

MARIETTA, Ga., Oct. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Brothers Danny and Larry Williamson, who operate one BBQ restaurant each in Marietta, Douglasville and Canton, Georgia, have the appreciation of their employee Leslie Sneed, who has breast cancer. For years, Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q has sponsored a breast cancer awareness campaign as its way of giving back to the communities in which it works. Then, in 2013, while working on the annual campaign run by the business, Sneed was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage IIIB breast cancer. 

In Sneed's fight against cancer, Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q has been a big support, she said, stating that the brothers have been her "biggest cheerleaders." She said of the brothers: "If I did not feel well enough to work, then I could just stay home. They said not to worry about my job, that they just wanted me to get well. They bought a cot so I could lay down at work if I wasn't feeling well. They donated money for a wig, made T-shirts and put donation jars up at all their restaurants. They have shown true kindness towards me, and I am so grateful."

Fighting breast cancer is very expensive, said Sneed. Therefore, starting in August 2014, she signed up with GoFundMe, a fundraising website that lets people and organizations raise money for individuals who need money for medical bills, school tuition, funeral costs and other reasons. Individuals and organizations registered with GoFundMe can ask for donations on its website via Twitter, Facebook and e-mail.
