ST. GEORGE, Utah, May 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lisa Stewart, Inventory and Quality Control Manager at Wilson Electronics, has been named one of '30 Women to Watch' for 2013 by Utah Business.
The magazine annually compiles its list of the state's most dynamic female business and community leaders. Stewart and the '30 Women to Watch' are featured in the May issue of Utah Business, and were recently honored at a reception at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
At Wilson Electronics, Stewart implemented lean manufacturing techniques to reduce the processing time for manufacturing, packaging and shipping products, leading to output improvements ranging from 40 to 400 percent.
She also developed an inventory system that improved accuracy to more than 99 percent, implemented a quality control process that virtually eliminated packaging errors, and created a scheduling system to align production output with the sales forecast.
"If I were going to give advice to someone just starting their career, it would be don't just do your job, excel at your job," Stewart said. "Go above and beyond on assignments given to you. Stewart holds Six Sigma Black Belt certification and is a 2001 Highest Distinction graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
