BOISE, Idaho, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open three new discount supermarkets at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010.  The Ogden, Utah store is located at 205 W. 12th Street, the Orem, Utah store is located at 895 N. 980 W. and the Sumner, Washington store is located at 6621 166th Ave. E.  Each store covers approximately 94,000 square feet and each will employ approximately 220 individuals.  

WinCo Foods is employee owned and is known primarily for being the supermarket low price leader in the markets where it operates.  Store Managers Jon Thompson (Ogden) Bruce Gilchrist (Orem) and Andy Vermeulen (Sumner) are enthusiastic about opening a new WinCo Foods store in each community.  Mr. Thompson has been with WinCo for ten years, has worked in five stores and comes to Ogden from Meridian, Idaho.  Mr. Gilchrist has been with the company for 20 years, has worked in nine stores and comes to Orem from Lancaster, California.  Mr. Vermeulen has worked for WinCo Foods for 18 years and transfers to Sumner from Kent, Washington.  All three managers are excited to begin working with the enthusiastic new employees hired in each community.

As customers enter the new stores they'll see a large "Wall of Values" featuring special low pricing on a wide variety of popular items.  Moving onto the main floor of the store, customers will appreciate a large fresh produce department; the seafood and meat, deli, and bakery service departments; and a large unique bulk foods department.  The bulk foods department displays over 600 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies and much more.  We are excited for customers to come in and see what makes WinCo Foods different as our employee owners work hard to help you save money on your grocery purchases.
