WinCo Foods Announces Grand Opening of Three New Stores

BOISE, Idaho, Nov. 5, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open three new discount supermarkets at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2010.  The stores are located at 2850 Pavilion Parkway, Tracy, California; 7540 Martin Way E., Lacey, Washington; and 9900 19th Ave. S.E., Everett, Washington.  The stores range in size from over 96,000 square feet in Tracy to over 119,000 square feet in Everett.  The stores will initially employ over 600 individuals collectively, most of whom have been hired from each local market area.

WinCo Foods is an employee owned company with the mission of being the everyday supermarket low price leader in each market we serve.  Store Managers Chris Wimpheimer (Tracy), Dana Lem (Lacey) and Kathy Johnson (Everett) are excited about the opportunity to open new stores in each community.  Mr. Wimpheimer has been with WinCo for 16 years, has worked in five different WinCo stores and transfers to Tracy from Brentwood, California.  Ms. Lem is an eight year veteran, has worked in three previous stores and transfers to Lacey from Puyallup, Washington.  Ms. Johnson has worked for WinCo for 12 years, has worked in five previous stores and comes to Everett from Perris, California.  All three indicated that their stores had an overflow of applicants for available positions and that they are excited to begin working with their enthusiastic new team of employees in each community.  Advance community response has been overwhelmingly positive.

When entering the new stores, customers will first see WinCo's "Wall of Values" featuring special low pricing on a wide variety of popular items.  As customers move to the sales floor, WinCo features a large fresh produce department; the seafood and meat, deli, and bakery service departments; and a large unique bulk foods department.  "We are excited for everyone to come in to see what makes WinCo Foods unique as our employee owners work hard to help everyone save money on their grocery purchases," said Michael Read, company spokesperson.
