HOUSTON, Nov. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At the annual FUSION conference in New Orleans on Nov. 1-4, 2015, the itSMF USA Awards program recognized the nation's best IT Service Management professionals and projects, for excellence and achievements within itSMF USA and for their leadership and contribution to the ITSM industry.
Regional Member of the Year finalists, announced previously, included Donovan Hardenbrook (West Region), Debbie Huddleston (Central Region), Joan Coolidge (East Region) and Karl Bietsch (South Region).
Joan Coolidge was named the 2015 itSMF USA Member of the Year. Joan is a long-time member of itSMF, and a strong advocate for service management and student interests. She acts as a strong supporter of itSMF across her extensive professional and personal networks. Her actions exemplify the true spirit of the volunteer – someone who acts purely for the benefit of others with no expectations of personal gain.
Regional Project of the Year finalists, also announced previously, included Toyota / One Toyota Service Project, Nominee David Li, Sponsor Karen Nocket (West Region); SRA Intl/National Cancer Institute / Knowledge Management & Mobility, Nominee Greg Lockhart, Sponsor Jeff Shilling (East Region); and Coca-Cola / Redesigning the Global Coca-Cola Service Catalog, Nominee Jeniffer Oburu, Sponsor Bo Storey (South Region).
The One Toyota Service Project to Redesign the Global Coca-Cola Service Catalog (Jeniffer Oburu) was announced as the 2015 itSMF USA Project of the Year. The project was initiated to improve the user experience for employees, to address an increasing trend in the number of incidents related to Service Catalog and Request Management processes, and to support the strategic Global Help Desk direction around Left Shift / User Self Service.
Jay Stuart received the Presidents Award for his courageous leadership and dedication to itSMF and our mission. Jay's leadership over the year's helped to ensure that itSMF members have the strong network and professional development opportunities that exist today.
Finally, the Atlanta Local Interest Group (LIG) was awarded the 2015 IG Excellence Award, based on the LIG's results including the number of events held, leadership, and engagement at the chapter level. Chuck Wysocki, President of the Atlanta LIG, accepted the award.
