Verizon Wireless Increases Network Capacity on Campus

CHAMPAIGN, Ill., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Students, faculty and staff on the campus of Parkland College in Champaign, Ill., and visitors to the college, will benefit from a new cell site that Verizon Wireless has activated near campus.

The new system expands network coverage and increases capacity throughout the entire campus and improves signal penetration into area buildings. In addition, coverage is expanded in northwest Champaign from U.S. Highway 150 in the north to Bradley Avenue in the south, and from Duncan Road in the west to Mattis Avenue in the east.

"This new cell site was built to ensure that our customers in and around the Parkland College campus can continue relying on their phones for everything from making calls and sending messages to surfing the Internet and getting e-mail," said T.J.
