Wireline services involve the running and pulling of downhole tools and equipment in and out of the well bore through a braided wire which mounted on a powered reel installed on a truck or on a self-contained skid. A wireline unit typically consists of a wireline reel, power supply, and associated control and connection equipment. Wireline services can be used for operations such as well logging, gas lift valve repair, perforation, zonal isolation, well stimulation, sand washing, and setting/pulling tubing plugs. Wireline services have been classified on the basis of the wireline type into Electric Line and Slick Line which differ on the basis of their ability to conduct electrical signals through them.
