Wellman concentrates on handling complex commercial and business disputes and has developed a multi-faceted litigation practice representing a broad base of corporate, real estate, and media clients.
He explained that he's an assertive and confident litigator. He says he focuses on efficiently achieving the best possible outcome, rather than doing what too many attorneys do – which is to create disruption that protracts the litigation process. "My litigation style is aggressive – but it's focused aggression – adding value for my clients," Wellman said. "Being aggressive, efficient, and getting the job done is the most crucial aspect of my practice."
Prior to joining Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin, Wellman practiced at the national law firm, Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman, and then joined Haight Brown & Bonesteel, where he honed his litigation skills representing, Fortune 500 companies, real estate developers, commercial retailers, and corporate manufacturers. Wellman finds Wolf Rifkin a perfect fit and the kind of full-service firm where he can thrive and provide all types of clients efficient and effective legal representation.
"It feels like a family here, and I am thrilled to join such a well-respected firm with a substantial Los Angeles footprint," Wellman said. "Being from this community, and practicing in this city throughout my entire career, I know the legal landscape, and this firm is second to none."
Wellman serves as the President of the Downtown Los Angeles Bar Association, and sits on several boards and committees for non-profit and public-benefit organizations in the Los Angeles area.
Wellman, a San Diego State undergrad who received his J.D. from Southwestern Law School, lives in West Hollywood and is based at the firm's West Los Angeles office.
