Wolfgang Puck Wines Expand To Retail
Master Chef's Boutique Selection of Wines Now More Accessible to Wine Lovers across the U.S.
NAPA, Calif., Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrated Chef Wolfgang Puck's eponymous wine label, Wolfgang Puck Wines, is now available to consumers at select retail locations. Accessibly priced, family produced and created with intense varietal character, these wines signify the spirit of food and life for which Puck is known.
"Wine is an essential element to a truly great meal," said Wolfgang Puck. "Everyone should be able to enjoy good wine at an affordable price—wine completes the meal and sets the mood. There is nothing better than celebrating a happy occasion with a toast, or enjoying a casual evening at home with a perfect steak and a bottle of Cabernet."
Previously, Wolfgang Puck Wines were sold only at Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group restaurants, Wolfgang Puck Bistro locations and Wolfgang Puck Catering venues nationwide.
Wolfgang Puck Wines are crafted by the Indelicato family, owners of California's DFV Wines. After Puck researched, developed and tasted with the winemakers at DFV Wines for more than two years, the master chef's boutique label debuted in 2010 with four initial varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. In late 2012, Wolfgang Puck Wines added a new red wine blend.
Puck's unique, personal attention to the winemaking process is reflected in each and every aspect of Wolfgang Puck Wines. The cuvées are specifically selected by the chef to emphasize approachability, with prices averaging $14.99 per bottle at retail.
Family plays a major role in the Wolfgang Puck Wines label, with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bottle generously donated to the Keep Memory Alive Foundation (KMA) which raises awareness and funds in support of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. Originally founded in 1996 by Las Vegas businessman Larry Ruvo, who held the inaugural memorial dinner in his father's memory at Spago in Las Vegas, KMA has since raised more than $100 million towards research and a cure for neurocognitive disorders. In honor of Puck's mother, Maria, whom Wolfgang lost to Alzheimer's in 2004, the proceeds generated from the wine sales will directly contribute to research a cure to brain-related diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's, ALS and Multiple Sclerosis.
