World-Leading Image Recognition Startup Incorporates New Deep Learning Algorithms for Enhanced Brand Detection
BRISBANE, Australia and PITTSBURGH, Dec. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TrademarkVision, the world's leading image search engine for trademarks, has announced the release of "deep learning" algorithms into their already advanced image recognition technology.
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) will be the first government office to adopt TrademarkVision's latest technology, using it to power their eSearch platform beginning December 2016. This will allow users to visually search all EU image trademarks in a matter of seconds. Already trusted by attorneys and brands worldwide, the company expects adoption of its technology by additional government bodies in the near future.
TrademarkVision believes the rapid adoption shows a massive shift in the industry of brand protection around the world, as Intellectual Property Offices begin to use cutting edge technology to replace subjective and manual processes.
The technology has wide applications beyond trademark searching for designs, logo creation sites, media and brand monitoring, licensing and many others.
"When you come across a logo, it's easy to compare it with your own, but when you want to compare it to millions, suddenly the task becomes very daunting. For anyone who has ever wanted to create a unique logo or ensure their IP is safe from possible infringement, they know this process can take hours, days and sometimes weeks," said Founder and CEO Sandra Mau. "TrademarkVision's technology cuts trademark, brand and logo searches down to seconds. Our technology has the potential to not only improve brand owner's lives, but completely change the game of brand protection."
The introduction of 'deep learning' techniques allow for the advanced recognition of objects, while other algorithms compare attributes, such as shape and texture.
To share their technology with the public and gather feedback, TrademarkVision is offering a free trial of their trademark search engine. In addition, the company is also introducing "TrademarkVision Labs," an open space to explore new technologies. TrademarkVision invites Labs visitors to engage in its "Describe Your Logo" project, which utilizes one of their deep learning algorithms to automatically tag logos with descriptive text.
