Wounded Warrior Project participates in Give Day Tampa Bay
TAMPA, Fla., May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) will be one of many local, non-profit organizations to benefit from Give Day Tampa Bay on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. The 24-hour online giving challenge, hosted by the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and the Florida Next Foundation, is part of the national day of giving through Give Local America.
The event will raise awareness of the pressing needs affecting Tampa Bay, and will encourage the community to give in its own backyard to organizations impacting the areas in which we live and work. Give Day Tampa Bay will spotlight the 5,337 injured service members in Florida, and the free programs we offer them and their families in the vital areas of engagement, mind, body, and economic empowerment.
"The Wounded Warrior Project Tampa office works tirelessly to impact the lives of local warriors and their families, not just today, but for their lifetimes," said Catherine McDonough, WWP Grants Specialist. "We are excited to participate in Give Day Tampa Bay and encourage individuals and companies to use this opportunity to step up for a local cause."
Give Day Tampa Bay will run from midnight to midnight and offers matching gifts and cash prize incentives for WWP as one of the few veteran's organizations participating.
