LAS VEGAS, Feb. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Wynn Las Vegas announces the development of Wynn Plaza, an expansive retail complex featuring 75,518 sq. ft. of luxury retail space. Debuting fall 2017, the uniquely designed complex will augment the existing luxury retail collection currently showcased at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore as well as bring the shopping experience to the high traffic area bordering Las Vegas Blvd.
"We had 300 or more feet on the Strip right on the sidewalk in unused real estate that was very, very valuable," said Steve Wynn, chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts. "This represents an opportunity for future development that is quite unique."
The design of Wynn Plaza will be influenced by European elements, specifically the legendary Avenue Matignon in the Right Bank of Paris, invoking a sense of elegance and sophistication. The selection and flow of retailers will offer visitors a unique experience with interactive and experiential opportunities dispersed throughout the space. Two entrances off of the Strip as well as a dedicated valet service will make the area highly accessible to visitors and interior entrances will offer a natural transition and seamless flow within Wynn and Encore.
Conceived and designed by Steve Wynn in collaboration with Architectural Digest Top 100 Designer Roger Thomas, Executive Vice President of Architecture DeRuyter Butler, and Wynn Design and Development, Wynn Plaza will play on elements of natural light and airiness, with two stories covered by atriums and a skylight rotunda that is prominently showcased in the heart of the space. An assortment of prestigious retailers will be curated to complement the design and provide an exclusive shopping experience for which Wynn is known.
"I have been awestruck by the Avenue Matignon since my first glimpse when I was fifteen," said Roger Thomas, "I have always wanted to create an experience of equal awe, delight and charm for others."
The opening of Wynn Plaza will bring the total retail square footage to more than 173,500 sq. ft. and augment the iconic brands that currently occupy Wynn and Encore, including Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, Loro Piana, Moncler, Prada, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.
