Xiu.com Expands Its Logistic Networks to Help Fuel Multinational Fashion Brands Growth In China
SHENZHEN, China, March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Xiu.com, a leading Chinese fashion online retailer, announced that it has expanded its logistic networks into Europe after its expansion in the U.S. and Hong Kong several years ago. The 7-year old company has established offices and built advanced warehouses in U.K. and Italy to help fashion brands quickly enter China with local supports. Top fashion brands, such as Salvatore Ferragamo has partnered with Xiu.com to sell online in China for over 3 years.
As Chinese middle class is fast growing and seems to become the next consumption superpower, the demand for high-end fashion products are exploding. Consulting firm Bain says Chinese are the biggest buyers of luxury products, accounting for 30% of global purchases in 2014. Fashion has become the largest section of the e-commerce market in China and online shoppers spent $100 billion on buying apparel products from online in 2014, up 42% from the prior year, according to China National Garment Association.
"The frenzy passion for fashion from Chinese shoppers is a great opportunity for multinational brands who are seeking global expansion," says Ji Wenhong, Founder and CEO of Xiu.com.
"We found Chinese Customers are evolving. The first generation of Chinese online consumers, who are mostly in the ages from 25 to 35 years old, start to pursue a high quality lifestyle and demand for premium products and services," says Ji. "As a leading fashion online retailer, Xiu.com is dedicated to bring more high quality products into China. "
Before, Chinese consumers prefer to shop when they are traveling abroad because the price in overseas stores is much lower. Recently the purchases on cross-border e-retail sites, such as Xiu.com, are growing dramatically because Chinese shoppers find the price on those sites are the same or even better than that in overseas stores. Besides, the recent protests in Hong Kong have significantly reduced the momentum of Chinese to travel for shopping and urged them to shop online.
Xiu.com says its sales jumped 80% in January year over year and more than 2,000 overseas companies, including eBay, Blue Nile, and HUGO BOSS, are partnering with Xiu.com to meet the new demands from Chinese online shoppers.
Take Salvatore Ferragamo as an example; before this Italy-based luxury brand was only selling in their store chains in 30 cities in China, after Xiu.com opened a web store for the brand, consumers from more than 600 cities and towns could purchase the brand online. Xiu.com's local employees also manage the products inventories, consumer services and delivery for Salvatore Ferragamo. As a result, the brand's sales on Xiu.com increased by over 17-fold in 2014 than the prior year.
Xiu.com sells premium international fashion brands to its 5 million elite and loyal customers, whose average order value in price is between $100 and $170.
