XL Group Appoints John E. Goodloe President of its Excess & Surplus Lines Business
NEW YORK, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- XL Group has enlisted John E. Goodloe to lead its Excess & Surplus (E&S) business. As President, he will direct underwriting operations, product distribution and strategic growth plans for XL Group's multiline E&S operation, which includes property, primary casualty, umbrella, excess casualty, and excess auto lines of business. Mr. Goodloe will be based in Chicago and report to Joe Tocco, Chief Executive of XL Group's North America Property & Casualty operations in New York.

Mr. Goodloe adds more than 30 years of specialty lines and reinsurance underwriting as well as management and wholesale brokerage experience to XL Group's North America P&C leadership team. He most recently served as Senior Vice President – Brokerage for the Scottsdale Insurance Company. Prior to that, he was president of Facultative Resources, Inc. and president of the Admiral Excess, both part of WR Berkley Company. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas.
