YIWU, China, May 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair 2015 will take place in Yiwu, China from June 4-7. Yiwu, in the eastern coastal area of China, is the world's largest small commodity market, an important logistics hub in China and a starting point of Yiwu-Madrid freight line. This fair is expected to become an important platform facilitating the importation of foreign consumer goods from along the Yiwu-Madrid line and the distribution of such.

Covering an area of 50,000 square meters with 1,800 booths, the fair will showcase imported household products, foods and beverages, arts and crafts, ornaments, garments and accessories, products and services from both cross-border e-commerce companies and other international trade service providers. Invitations to exhibition focus on increasing the number of exhibitors from South Korea, Japan and other countries along the "One Belt, One Road" route. Over 1,200 exhibitors are expected to participate, making the fair one of China's largest in its category.

Yiwu has been specifically mentioned by the UN and by the World Bank as the largest small commodity wholesale market in the world. It sells over 2.1 million kinds of small commodities to more than 200 countries. Approximately 500,000 foreign buyers visit Yiwu annually, and over 15,000 foreign buyers from over 100 countries have established a resident footprint here. The city has business ties with 219 countries and regions.

The launch of the China-Europe freight line from Yiwu to Madrid, Spain creates a new logistics channel for the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. The new route will give Chinese consumers access to products from Europe and Central Asia, and create new cooperation opportunities between Yiwu and countries along the New Silk Road. Foreign products transported to Yiwu via this railway will be displayed and sold from here, reaching consumers throughout China and further establishing Yiwu as the place of displaying and selling foreign-made goods in Chinese market.

Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair 2015 is the city's sole event featuring imported consumer products. In tandem with the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, the event puts more emphases on the second and third-tier brands from producers worldwide. To date, it has received registration applications from companies in over 100 countries across Europe, the Americas, Australia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Africa.
