Zap2it's Editorial Director Joseph Kapsch Joins KTLA's 'Live from the Emmys' Coverage Team Kapsch to Provide Fan-Centric Commentary on TV Shows Up for Emmy Consideration
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Zap2it, a leading TV and celebrity news web site from Tribune Media Services (TMS), has announced its Editorial Director, Joseph Kapsch, will appear on KTLA's "Live from the Emmys" show to be hosted by veteran entertainment reporter Sam Rubin. The KTLA coverage will air live on Sunday, August 29 at 3PM PT immediately preceding NBC's live broadcast of the "62nd Primetime Emmy Awards" airing at 5PM PT.
Kapsch will be the special guest of KTLA's Emmy coverage team comprised of Rubin, Morning News anchor Jessica Holmes, fashion expert Louise Roe from "Plain Jane," and Tom O'Neil from The Envelope. His distinctive brand of commentary on the shows up for Emmy consideration will draw upon an encyclopedic knowledge of all things TV and celebrity as well as true fandom for the subject matter. Kapsch will also give a voice to fellow TV fans who express their opinions on Emmy favorites by voting in a series of interactive polls on Zap2it and KTLA.com.
Joseph Kapsch sets the editorial strategy for Zap2it, overseeing a staff of editors, writers and producers who also happen to be avid fans of TV. Under his management, the site delivers breaking TV and celebrity news, original interviews, scoops and spoilers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Shortly after joining Zap2it in March 2009, Kapsch spearheaded a comprehensive initiative resulting in sharper editorial focus on celebrities, deeper content partnerships, and a brand new design. Since that time, the site's audience in key demographic segments has grown and overall unique visitors have reached an all-time high.
More recently, Kapsch oversaw the move of the Zap2it editorial operation to the KTLA lot in Hollywood and initiated a multi-faceted partnership with the Tribune-owned LA market station. His invitation to join the KTLA Emmy coverage team was a direct result of this partnership.
Possessing a high comfort-level on live TV, Kapsch has appeared on TV Guide Network's "Hollywood 411" and "Returning Shows Specials" as well as CNN's "Blogger Bunch." He has also been featured as an "American Idol" expert on the Morning News shows of more than 15 Tribune Broadcasting stations across the country.
"KTLA and Sam are institutions in Hollywood when it comes to entertainment coverage so Zap2it is elated to be part of their 'Live from the Emmys' pre-show," said Joseph Kapsch, Zap2it's Editorial Director. "Not only does this collaboration add an interactive element to KTLA's on-air coverage, it also engages TV fans along the way - something Zap2it successfully does online 24/7. Big picture, this marks more progress in our partnership with KTLA and gives us great momentum as we head into the new TV season."
