Zapata Racing to hold 2016 Flyboard® World Cup Championship
MARSEILLES, France, Sept. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Zapata Industries SAS of Marseilles, France, the undisputed leader in developing and manufacturing hydro- and jet-powered technologies and products, today announced that the 2016 Flyboard World Cup Championship will be held September 16-18 at the Sugden Regional Park in Naples, Florida.
The FlyboardAir®, which has captured the imagination of the public around the world, is a 2x2 square foot board, developed by the Zapata team, equipped with a turbine engine that can fly as high as 10,000 feet at high speed.
The 5th World Championship competition, organized by Pro Watercoss and Zapata Racing, features the best Flyboard riders from around the world displaying an exhilarating range of skills during their freestyle battles. The riders will be judged by a jury of five professionals, who will crown a world champion. The competition, which is free to the public, will be televised by CBS Sports.
