Zinch.com Names Tom Melcher as VP Global Products & Partnerships
Silicon Valley Veteran Brings Global Perspective & Passion for Access to Higher Education
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Zinch (www.Zinch.com) today announced that Tom Melcher has joined the company as Vice President, Global Products & Partnerships, as well as Chairman of Zinch China. He is responsible for product design and development in all markets, as well as the company's business development and corporate development activities.
Melcher is a champion of access to higher education and a serial Internet entrepreneur with blue-chip business experience. For the past six years, he has been living in Beijing, where he co-founded a Beijing-based internet media company that was acquired by Global Sources in 2007. He is also a frequently interviewed expert in China on the topic of overseas education, and authored the best-selling book in Chinese on that subject.

Prior to that, Melcher worked for McKinsey & Company in their San Francisco, Copenhagen and Washington, DC offices. He also worked for IBM in China in the mid-eighties. Melcher was a Baker Scholar at the Harvard Business School and received his BA in political science from Yale University. He speaks Chinese fluently.
