CAMBRIDGE, England, Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Zinwave, a leading provider of DAS systems for in-building wireless coverage, has made a number of changes to its patented software, opened new offices, and appointed a new commercial team to facilitate the deployment of indoor wireless technology in the US. Hollister Keville, Dave Del Fava and Ron Mehringer joined the company in June 2012 and collectively, they have over 40 years experience in the wireless and telecommunications industries.
This company expansion follows Zinwave's appointment of Mr Laddy Flemming as its new EVP, Worldwide Sales, earlier this year. The company now has representation in western, eastern and central regions of the US and Canada.
Zinwave's unique solution supports multiple services and multiple carriers from a single hardware layer. It is the only true wideband active DAS on the market and covers all wireless frequencies between150 MHz and 2700 MHz.
The company's new DAS software significantly speeds up system installation and commissioning processes, thus enabling its customers to quickly and cost-effectively deliver a wide range of wireless services to their end users.
Its new firmware ensures optimised connectivity to all commercial and public safety frequencies 24x7 and its easy-to use management software immediately identifies transmission irregularities so they can be resolved before services are affected.
Hollister Keville, Zinwave USA's new Director of Sales for the western region, has worked for renowned organizations including Motorola Inc and Pacific Bell Mobile. He has held senior positions within well-known DAS companies and has long-standing relationships with large enterprises on the west coast of America.
Ron Mehringer, Zinwave USA's new Director of Sales for the eastern region, has more than 20 years' experience in active electronics in the form of indoor and outdoor DAS installations, as well as passive hardware, antennas communications towers and equipment shelters. He has worked closely with all major operators, service providers and Fortune 500 companies.
David Del Fava, Zinwave USA's new Director of Systems Engineering, has held senior positions at a number of DAS companies. For the last 13 years he has managed a team of 50 engineers that have been focused solely on supplying turnkey DAS systems for wireless carriers and large enterprises. David was also employed by Ericsson Inc for 10 years, where he held various field engineering roles in the United States, Indonesia and China.
The demand for robust distributed antenna systems (DAS) is increasing dramatically, as consumers and enterprises become more dependent on Smartphones to access the Internet and other wireless-driven services. The US DAS market accounts for 65% of the global market and Zinwave's decision to expand its commercial resource demonstrates its recognition of the US as market leaders in this field.
Says Laddy Fleming, EVP, Worldwide Sales: "Although the US is the largest commercial DAS marketplace, systems deployed to date have been complex in design, leaving them vulnerable to operational problems and bandwidth limitations. The Zinwave 3000 will simplify DAS infrastructures for any venue because the overall solution uses only four components, which is much lower than traditional systems. Furthermore it supports all commercial cellular and most private wireless frequencies and protocols on a single equipment layer, making it an attractive proposition to our customers."
Zinwave USA have recently won a number of significant contracts, including the Pepsi Center Arena in Denver, Colorado, which is expected to be completed this fall.
