SAN DIEGO, Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc. will debut its most energy efficient pool system in booths 2021 and 2029a at the International Pool, Spa and Patio Expo (PSP) in New Orleans at the Morial Convention Center from Nov. 2-8, 2012. In addition, Steve Gutai, Zodiac's director of product development, hydraulics and heating systems, will present a workshop on applied hydraulics for building professionals as part of the APSP Builder Institute, Builder/Contractor track on Nov. 4 from 8-9:30 am. The PSP show brings together builders, retailers, service professionals and landscape architects with manufacturers, suppliers and service providers to showcase the latest products as well as provide education and networking opportunities.
Zodiac has continued its commitment to continual product improvement with the introduction of the Zodiac Pool, with components engineered to work flawlessly together. Key components to be exhibited include professional grade equipment that achieves hydraulic efficiency, variable speed pumps that use up to 90 percent less energy, automatic controllers that allow energy savings through proprietary seasonal scheduling, pool cleaners that operate on just pennies per day, and pool covers that will save homeowners up to 70 percent on energy, chemicals and water loss. Zodiac has manufactured its components to meet or exceed the standards set by the California title 20 and 24 CEC energy codes as well as the APSP 15 codes that are standard in Florida and recently adopted by the International Code Council for building and construction of pools nationally.
The centerpiece of the Zodiac Pool is the Versa Plumb® system in the Jandy® Pro Series product line. Versa Plumb has been engineered as a modular system with exceptional hydraulic efficiency and intelligent design elements, resulting in one of the most energy-efficient pool systems in the industry. It is comprised of a pool pump, filter and heater that have been designed to work together as a whole system, minimizing plumbing requirements and maximizing efficiency. Pool professionals achieve the fastest and most seamless installation of core equipment possible due to Versa Plumb's pre-assembled plumbing kits and interconnected equipment design, featuring straight-through flow pipes and sweep elbows that reduce water resistance by up to 70 percent.
Extensive tests in Zodiac product development labs have demonstrated that when compared to other equipment sets in its class, Versa Plumb offers:
- 50 percent more hydraulic efficiency
- 40 percent faster installation
- 50 percent less plumbing pipe and fittings
- ½ HP smaller pump required to achieve the same flow as a larger pump
Gutai also will present a workshop for the Genesis Three symposium on Nov. 7 from 12-1 pm. The course, entitled "Engineering 191: Building Efficient Equipment Pads," will train designers and builders to setup efficient equipment pads and will cover the technical aspects of the Versa Plumb system.
At the tradeshow, Zodiac will introduce its newest controller, the AquaLink® Z4, which controls up to four circuits and three valve actuators. This affordable, convenient, and easy-to-use control system seamlessly integrates with iAquaLink™, which allows pool owners to control their pool using any smartphone, tablet or web-connected device. Using any web browser or custom apps for leading smartphones or tablets, pool owners can control their pool or pool/spa combo anytime, anywhere. iAquaLink apps are available for both Apple® and Android® smartphones and tablets.
Zodiac's best-in-class for energy efficiency pool cleaners will also be featured, including these:
- T5 Duo ® – Zodiac disc cleaners have the lowest flow requirement of any in the class – as little as 17 GPM
- The Polaris 360 – This energy efficient pressure-side cleaner does not require a booster pump and works well on the low speed of most 2-speed pumps, making it a highly efficient, yet powerful cleaning solution
- Polaris Robotic pool cleaners – Cost only pennies per day to operate, using the same energy consumption as a 70 watt light bulb
- MX8™ with flow regulator – This ultra-efficient suction pool cleaning robot requires less flow than any cleaner in its class, operating on as little as 20 GPM. It requires the equivalent energy of only three 100-watt bulbs for operation.
To better educate pool pros and consumers on the energy savings that can be achieved through a total Zodiac pool, the company will soon launch a new energy center website, which will be posted on Zodiac's social media sites when ready.
