Michael J. Fox congratulates ultra-athlete Sam Fox (no relation) atop of Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, BC, on Saturday, September 12. The climb marked the end of Tour de Fox, a 103-day odyssey across the contiguous United States and into Canada that raised nearly $2 million for Parkinson's research. Sam, 28, of Rhode Island, a staffer at The Michael J. Fox Foundation, biked 8,000 miles along the route and climbed the highest peak in each U.S. state. Tour de Fox galvanized more than 2,000 members of the Parkinson's community to take part in the quest to speed a cure for Parkinson's disease. Sam completed the Tour in honor of his mother, Lucy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2000.
