NEW YORK, Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The continued growth of the Haynes and Boone, LLP hedge fund practice is being boosted with the recruitment of two highly regarded partners in the firm's rapidly expanding New York office, Ricardo W. Davidovich and Shelley J. Rosensweig.
Davidovich and Rosensweig bring to the firm's hedge fund capabilities more than 35 years of experience in advising investment managers, hedge funds and other alternative asset structures.
"Our firm's global hedge fund practice has grown significantly over the past five years," said Partner Taylor H. Wilson, who leads the Haynes and Boone investment funds practice. "With the arrival of Ricardo and Shelley, we will be expanding the number of fund families we serve, particularly on the East Coast. The fit could not be better for all of us."
Added firm Managing Partner Terry Conner: "We're really excited to bring on board these two very well-established and notable lawyers. The New York and Northeastern corridors are becoming increasingly important to our sophisticated clients seeking a firm with broad and deep hedge fund experience, so we are delighted they are joining our team."
Both of the new Haynes and Boone partners also possess rich experience in commodity trading and finance, an area in which the firm is investing heavily to capitalize on growth in the midstream oil and gas markets, in part, by taking advantage of trading opportunities opening up with the domestic shale crude boom in production and transportation across the country. Most recently, Haynes and Boone has added veteran energy, regulatory and transactional lawyer Phil Lookadoo in its Washington, D.C. office and Houston-based Partner Kirsten Polyansky, who offers experience in energy commodities, with a special focus on crude oil and refined products.
Davidovich focuses his practice on investment management, private investment funds in the U.S. and offshore jurisdictions, commodities, broker-dealer and regulatory issues. He represents a broad spectrum of investment funds and investment managers whom he counsels and advises on their businesses and operations, including the structuring, ongoing compliance issues, registrations, trading issues and regulatory examinations and investigations.
Rosensweig has built her practice on structuring and organizing domestic and offshore private investment funds. She regularly advises clients on a variety of matters, including the design, structure and operation of investment portfolios, distribution and marketing issues, and commodities and futures issues. She also assists clients with seed investments, formation of managed account platforms and the organization of joint ventures.
The firm's Investment Funds and Private Equity Practice Group provides assistance with the formation and on-going operation of investment funds engaging in a broad spectrum of investment activities from general investment in listed stocks to targeted acquisitions in a wide variety of industries, including in technology, energy, and real property, businesses and investments.
The practice lawyers represent both domestic and offshore investment vehicles and funds of funds, and serve as lead outside counsel to numerous investment funds that combined have tens of billions of dollars in assets under management.
Haynes and Boone's New York office recently completed expansion to a third floor at 30 Rockefeller Plaza - a move that provides the firm with an additional 38,193 square feet of space at the iconic New York address. The firm now occupies a total of 113,000 square feet – the entire 24th, 25th and 26th floors, making Haynes and Boone the largest law firm housed at 30 Rock.
The expansion follows a period of remarkable growth for the firm in New York. What began in 2004 with a single New York-based lawyer is now an operation with nearly 100 attorneys who service clients across a wide range of practice areas.
