Evaluated in the "Under 1,000 Employees" category, Akamai was selected after results were compiled from a Trust Index Questionnaire and Culture Audit. The questionnaire focused on key workplace values like camaraderie and growth opportunities, while the audit reviewed culture practices, policies and programs as well as employee management. Akamai was listed in the top 10 in Central America and top five in Costa Rica. The company also ranked first among the 119 companies in camaraderie, selected based on attention to motivation, collaboration, engagement and fun activities in the workplace.

The questionnaire was conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, witnessed by Grant Thornton International Ltd and certified by Instituto Mexicano de Normalizacion y Certificacion (Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification), an agency with more than 20 years of experience in certification and assessment.
