BOLINGBROOK, Ill., Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- This holiday season, the ATI Foundation in partnership with the clinics of ATI Physical Therapy, is focusing on enhancing the lives of local children with physical impairments through its annual Holiday Kids Campaign.
The Foundation has designated nine beneficiaries in need of specific assistance, and is asking patients, communities, friends and colleagues of ATI to support the campaign with financial contributions.

"As we wrap up 2014, we are excited to host our second annual Holiday Kids Campaign," said Terry Williams, Director of the ATI Foundation. "This year, we've expanded our fundraising efforts to include two additional children. Our campaign will raise money to support a specific need for each beneficiary, and we thank everyone who opens their hearts so these children have an opportunity to improve their quality of life."
All ATI clinic locations will host fundraising events; funds raised will be designated to the beneficiary in the region of the participating clinics. The children honored in this year's campaign reside in Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee/Georgia and Wisconsin. 2014 HOLIDAY KIDS CAMPAIGN BENEFICIARIES
Christine Payne, Age 15 from Middletown, DE
Christine has Athetoid Cerebral Palsy with uncontrolled movements. The Payne family finds it difficult to transport her in their two-story home. To give Christine accessibility in her home and involvement with her family, the Foundation will be providing $6,600 for the purchase of two stair lifts.
Kevin Petto, Age 12 from Grayslake, IL
Kevin suffers from mitochondrial disease and epilepsy. This past March, he underwent brain surgery to help control the seizures that were causing bodily harm. The Foundation will be providing a grant of $2,400 to pay for a year of therapeutic horseback riding.
Kaitlyn Reasoner, Age 12 from Kouts, IN
In October 2014, Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, causing severe damage to her nervous system. She will soon transfer to a rehabilitation facility for physical therapy to help her regain strength and function. $3,000 will be provided to assist with medical expenses from her hospitalization and treatment.
Savannah Leonardi, Age 18 from Elkton, MD
Savannah has cystic fibrosis, a disorder affecting her lungs and other organs, plus scoliosis. In addition to her illness, Savannah's mom suffers from Lupus, and her father is on kidney dialysis. She is in need of a new mattress to help her breathe and sleep more comfortably, plus a new heating/air system due to mold problems from a damaged home foundation. The ATI Foundation will provide $1,800 for the mattress, plus a portion for the family's new heating/air system in their home.
Morgan Ziemba, Age 4 from Wyoming, MI
Morgan was born with arthrogryposis, a congenital condition with joint curvatures in her body, causing abnormal fibrosis of the muscle tissue and muscle shortening. She has a severe case of club feet and her hands are tight, making it difficult to perform daily activities. $2,000 will be granted to assist with medical and travel expenses for Morgan's upcoming surgery.
Owen Stanforth, Age 8 from Tiffin, OH
Owen suffers from cerebral palsy, epilepsy, scoliosis, lung disease in addition to a myriad of other health complications. He has a feeding tube, a compromised immune system, wears hand and ankle-foot braces and is in a wheelchair. Owen is in need of a positional mattress that will assist with respiratory issues and sleep apnea. $2,000 will be provided for his new bed and assistance with medical expenses.
Nicholas Alloway, Age 6 from Swarthmore, PA
Nicholas lives with a condition called Lennox-Gestaut Syndrome that causes him to endure at least 10 seizures a day. Additionally, he is fed through a stomach tube due to swallowing issues, requires support to maintain a seated position, demonstrates frequent and involuntary movements, and is unable to crawl or walk. At forty-four pounds, it is becoming difficult to transfer him from one position to another. The ATI Foundation will be purchasing Nicholas a $735 Rifton Blue Wave bath chair, which will allow a safer bathing environment for both him and his caregivers.
Jada Romans, Age 7 from Rossville, GA
Jada was born with arthrogryposis, a congenital condition with joint curvatures in two or more areas of the body. Her elbows, wrists, knees and ankles are completely locked and she has no muscle tone or range of motion. The Romans need a car seat that Jada can use as she grows, so she can sit safely and comfortably. The ATI Foundation will be purchasing Jada's car seat and providing additional financial assistance.
Cecilia Jones, Age 12 from Oconomowoc, WI
Cecilia was born with spina bifida, an in utero condition where the spine does not close completely. Following a recent surgery, her physician recommended that she no longer use her crutches to walk, and she is now limited to a wheelchair. The Foundation will be purchasing a $750 electronic stimulation system for home therapy, plus financial assistance for a handicap accessible bathroom/bedroom remodel.
