NAPERVILLE, Ill. and ELMHURST, Ill., Dec. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With the world's most famous female race car driver lending a steering hand, Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare is announcing "Healthy Driven," an initiative to position one of the larger health systems in Illinois as devoted to helping patients move their health forward.
In the coming months, Danica Patrick will be featured as the spokesperson in a Healthy Driven marketing blitz that includes TV and radio commercials (30-second TV ad: https://www.youtube.com/embed/mWy_8p7WP88), full-page newspaper and magazine ads, billboards, and a presence at public transportation centers and on public transportation vehicles.
A new web-site, HealthyDriven.com, features the Danica Patrick Healthy Driven Challenge where consumers can select a challenge to help them take charge of their health. Participants can share their challenge on social media, receive a personalized photo with Patrick and be eligible for valuable prizes.
"Since we merged, we've made significant progress – our quality is strong, we're more efficient and we're growing," says Pam Davis, System CEO, Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare. "Now, with a solid foundation beneath us, we're re-introducing ourselves as Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare in a new and exciting way with a new brand position, Healthy Driven. We want to inspire our patients and community."
Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare's Healthy Driven campaign begins more than a year after the merger of Edward, Linden Oaks and Elmhurst Hospitals. Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare includes more than 50 outpatient locations across a service area of 1.7 million residents in the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago, 7,400 employees and 1,900 physicians on staff.
Patrick, who grew up in Roscoe, Illinois, is the most successful woman in the history of American auto racing. Since 2013, most of her racing has been in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, driving the #10 GoDaddy Chevrolet for Stewart-Haas Racing. Patrick is the only woman to have won an IndyCar Series race, the 2008 Indy Japan 300, and her 3rd place finish at the 2009 Indianapolis 500 is the best showing by a woman in the history of the legendary race.
"Leading the Healthy Driven campaign is a natural connection and extension of my personal and professional lifestyle," says Patrick. "Through my Healthy Driven Challenge, I want to motivate others to take charge of their health."
Patrick will donate up to $10,000 – one dollar for each challenge taken on HealthyDriven.com – to help fight childhood obesity in the Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare service area.
Adds Davis, "Our new brand position is about being driven, and who is more driven than Danica Patrick? She symbolizes what we're talking about – determination and focus to reach your Healthy Driven goals wherever you are in your life. That's especially important in this era of healthcare reform where consumers are being asked to take more personal responsibility for their health. Healthy Driven means we are willing to do whatever it takes to improve the health of our community."
Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare's Danica Patrick Healthy Driven Challenge gives participants an opportunity to select health challenges from three categories on their desktop, tablet or mobile device:
- Nutritional (for example, replace soda or juice with water for one week)
- Physical (take the stairs instead of the elevator at work)
- Emotional (volunteer at a local charity)
Completing the Challenge is one step toward a new healthy habit and is available to everyone. There's also an option to become a repeat challenger by creating a log-in. Challengers will receive a personalized photo message from Patrick to share on Facebook or Twitter, along with a personalized Challenge dashboard and are eligible to win a FitBit, fitness center membership and other valuable prizes.
