First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale's Concert Series Continues on Sunday, October 26, 2014 with Organist Chelsea Chen
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale's 2014-2015 Concert Series provides the perfect source of entertainment for music lovers of all ages. Known for offering a diverse array of artists and music genres, the Concert Series will continue this Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 7 p.m. when the church hosts internationally renowned organist Chelsea Chen.

"The purpose of the Concert Series is to share the joy that music brings into our lives," said Minister of Music Robin L. McEachern. "Each year the Concert Series offers everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, the opportunity to enjoy the talents and artistry of a variety of both local and national musicians."
Internationally renowned concert organist and acclaimed composer, Chelsea Chen is known for displaying "amazing artistry and incredible technique." Described as "charming" and "irresistible" by the L.A. Times, Chen has soloed with orchestras throughout the world including the Wuhan Philharmonic in China, the Jakarta Simfonia in Indonesia, and the Juilliard Percussion Orchestra in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. Her October 26, 2014 concert in Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale will feature some of her own compositions as well as well-known organ classics.
While there is no cost to attend a concert at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, except for the Annual Kirk Singer Musical in March, a free offering will be collected during each concert to help support the future programming of the Music Ministry program.

The Cathedral Choir, soloists, and members of the Florida Philharmonia present an evening of Christmas music, including music from the classical literature, new compositions, and a brand new exciting medley of favorite Christmas carols arranged for choir, congregation, and orchestra by our friend and composer Joseph M. Martin.
Westminster Handbell Choir

Sunday, January 18 at 7 p.m.
These students from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ will be on their winter concert tour in our area and will be presented again here at our church in concert. The ensemble performs on the largest set of handbells in the world and promise a spectacular program of all kinds of music. It is as exhilarating for the eyes as well as the ears.
An Evening of Stories and Songs
Ashley Palmer Lindsay, Soprano
Sunday, February 22 at 7 p.m.
Ashley will tell us about the songs that inspired her to become a singer. She studied voice at Northwestern University in Illinois, and sings in our Cathedral Choir and Contemporary Worship service. Ashley has sung Broadway, Opera and Oratorio, Musical Theater, and sacred music here in our church. Her personal insights, as well as her beautiful voice, will make for a great evening of music.
42nd Annual Kirk Singer Musical

Thursday, March 5 to Sunday, March 8
The Kirk Singers will present their 42nd annual Broadway Music Production in two dinner shows (Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7), and two theater-style performances (Thursday evening, March 5 and Sunday afternoon, March 8). Tickets need to be purchased for each show but are not available until after February 1.
Cathedral Choir Pops Concert

Come hear the Cathedral Choir and members of the Symphony of the Americas as we present a concert of Pops music. The program will include a salute to our Armed Forces, great orchestral music, and choral Broadway hits. Back by popular demand!

Our Children's Choirs will present their Spring concert, featuring music about our faith and scripture. There is always a lesson remembered for years to come both by our children and the congregation.

We conclude the season with our Kirk Singers (grades 9-12) in their farewell concert prior to their 52nd Annual Summer Choir Tour.
