Funk Music Controls Minds According to New Novel by Utah Author

According to a new science fiction novel, those funky grooves in the wrong hands can be used for mind control.  Funk Toast and the Pan-Galactic Prom Show, the latest novel by Utah author, Craig Nybo, follows Funk Toast, an Earth based musical group, on a truly funkadelic adventure into outer space.

Nybo's novel acts as part 2 and the conclusion to his sci-fi comedy novel, Bieber's Finger. Bieber's Finger follows a pop super-fan as she catches the finger of the object of her obsession in a car bombing outside a concert venue. She arranges to have a clone of Bieber printed from his DNA and proceeds to teach him to sing and dance. She sets her eyes on The Pan-Galactic Prom Show, a prestigious outer space party gig, to resurrect his career.

Funk Toast and the Pan-Galactic Prom Show picks up where Bieber's Finger leaves off. With Bieber assassinated, Funk Toast, an Earth band, fills the headliner slot at the intergalactic event. But Funk Toast fans are not the only ones interested in their sound. Knolar Jex, intergalactic pirate, hatches a plan to use the band's "psychopsionic" grooves to control the minds of alien species across the universe.
